Stretches (stretches) Most dancers and athletes like to stretch a little before doing exercises. Some stretch for 5 or 10 minutes or more before class. A good stretching exercise for a girl to be done after the barre is .... holding right arm on barre, bring left leg up to high A La Seconde, crook your left elbow behind left knee and pull up. Straighten and bend left knee several times while pulling up with your left arm. Then catch left heel with left hand and straighten leg front and carry to side. Repeat the first part again then hold leg in Penche back and pull left over to 180 degrees, if possible. Stretches are most important for a dancer.
